LIFE : TRUE FRIENDSHIP

We can be surrounded with many friends. A friends that willing to share your happiness, sadness and loneliness. As people say, There are lots of friends who can laugh with you when your pocket is full with money but when you don't have money then only you will realise who are the true friends. A friends that really concern about you are the most difficult to find.

When I was studied in primary school in Kampung Kuantan Kuala Selangor, I had a best close friend. Both of us were in the same classroom. We stayed at same small town in Pasir penambang. We went to school together and even after school we would studied and played together. Since we were too close to each other and my family treat him like my own family member. We shared everything even money and food. Both of us were agreed to pay our foods followed by turn . Today he will pay and the next day will be my turn to pay for the foods. So you can imagine how close we are.

Our father was a government's servant and both of them were subject to be transferred from one place to another place, we were separated because of following our father. My father was transferred to Port Dickson where as his father was transferred to Kapar klang as a Headmaster of Primary school. For a few months we keep on touch by sending letter but suddenly everything had changed and no letter replied from him.

Even though it was 39 years ago but I still can remember his name Mohd Rizwan bin Abd. samad till today and last address was Sekolah Kebangsaan Kapar Klang. I still searching him to bring back all our both sweet memories together. Even though we were just nine years old but both of us know the meaning of friendship. The name that I will be remembered forever.

LIFE : NEW TASK

Suddenly I feel so sad to leave my team. Even though I will still base at the same office but my job function will be more focusing to Maggi brand. I still wait for confirmation letter regarding the new task. Reporting to the new boss that only in charge of special project. I only knew this new appointment this morning when my former exec. from HOU phoned me. I will be joining Maggi team and they call it "Transformer Team". The main objective to transform Maggi brand to be number one in household brand. OAJ told me that I will be reporting to the new boss on November and will be attending special training in KL next week. The most important thing take it positively and move forward. Who's know my future will start from here..................but my priority is wait till I received a black and white letter for the new task.

LIFE : JOB INTERVIEW

When I received a letter to inform for the job interview in 1997 and I still could remembered one of the interviewer asked me a question " what is your strengths? ". At first, I couldn't understand the question. So, I asked the Interviewer " What you mean by strength? " and then she elaborated the meaning of the strength. To make it clear, she asked my again but this time she changed it into " What is special about you?"

I answered the question clearly" my strength is I can easily mixed up with everyone and I can talk any topic at any situation according to my clients. At any topic from Football, general knowledge and politic as long as my objective to sell my product is achieved." " Are you transferable? " she asked me and I answered " Yes and I get use of it since my father was a policeman. We transfer from one place to another place."

"Thank you and let say, if you are succeed in this interview,When can you start to work?" she said and I told her " at least one month notice ". She asked again " We have two vacancies, Ipoh and Sungai Petani. Which one do you prefer?" " It's up to you but my choice is Ipoh."

" Thanks and good luck, we will let you know the result by phone tomorrow " she said.

LIFE : ALONG

Those days when people need some money urgently , they would borrowed it from Chetiar. Chetiar one of Indian clan, who wear a white cloth without a shirt with black umbrella and sit in front of small table. Most of them a licence money lender. Today, scenario have changed and they have a different name. Their new name is Along or Abang Long [ Big Brother ] but their main function is still the same, lending money with high interest rate in other word they are blood sucker. Some of them are more professional by advertise their service with flyer and door to door service. You don,t have to wait too long for your loan to approve, You contact them in the morning and they will deliver the money in afternoon with a condition term of payment.

10% will be deducted from the amount borrower have borrowed and the interest will accumulate once borrower fail to pay on time. It's mean that if you borrowed RM1000 and borrower fail to pay on time, the amount can be accumulated to RM 10,000 by their own calculation. When the amount keep on accumulate and borrower can't afford to pay, the easier way is hide yourself from the lender. Then, this is where the problem will be arise. The problem will not be stopped there, it will be extended to the borrower close family by embarrassing them continuously. Two famous method been used by lender to embarrass the borrower, Trowing a red paint on the borrower's house wall and paste a poster with borrower photo around the housing estate.

When I was in Ipoh 1997, I met one of my client. He owned a Mini Market and his main business was a Money lender. He told me that "when they come to us to borrow some money, we told them the interest charge and mode of payment. Most of them are agreed. Some of them a genuine borrower and they pay on time but some of them specially gambler who lose on gambling, these are the person who always create a problem. They aren't pay the loan but run away in hiding. We mean business and we need that money back to cover our business" " we don't force them to take loan from us and we willing to help them but please pay and don't run away from us. We still can negotiate if the borrower can't pay the loan but let us know, so that we can revise back mode of payment". He said.

LIFE : NAGGING

As a man , what will you do when your wife start to nag?. Do you know that nagging can be very annoying. Some of my friends suggest that to avoid from their wife nagging they either walk out from house or help her to do housework.When we are married, we have to adapt into two different scenario the way we are brought up. Some of us were brought up by parents to help clean up the house or at least clean up his own dish after eating and his own bed room. Some of them were brought up too pampered and all housework were done by their mother or housemaid. When they are married either man or woman will never bother to take care their house and rely on their housemaid. Specially in this day when both of them have a career. Is nagging a part of woman behaviour or there are also a men who like to nag? I believe that both of women or men have a good reasons why they are nagging? Wives are nagging to his husbands because of not helping her with housework while men start to nag because of wives are not give attention to them. So who is right? The answer is on your own hand............

LIFE : GOOD LESSON

Last sunday Jamal and I was in USJ Subang Jaya attending Zul's Aidil fitri open House. We arrived a bit late at Zul 's house because Jamal need to replace his Kia Sportage tyres at Klang. He told me that in Klang he could get a good price if compared to Sitiawan. Since both of us were not familiar with the Klang area so he phoned his friend to guide us. We went into two tyre shops to compare the price. The first shop offered him RM 320 included balancing and alignment and the second offered was lowered by Rm 5. He took the second shop offered but he only realised that the alignment was not included when the shop owner charged him for it. At the end he paid more then what he expected. I told him that " sometime we think that we win but actually we are loosing just because of too calculative." I think it will be a good lesson to him.

On the way back to Ipoh after the Open house, we went to his friend's house to show him the new tyres and he got another surprised bad news. His friend told him that the tyres was almost expired because the date was printed there 2007. From his face I knew that he wasn't happy with it and felt that he was been cheated by the tyre shop. I just kept quiet. Along the way back he kept on nagging. I told him stopped blaming yourself because sometime thing happen beyond our control, we should think carefully and wisely before buying things. Then he told me that the first thing in tomorrow morning he will phone the shop and he want some explanation regarding the tyres and try to force the shop to replace a new tyres. Since I wasn't interested to hear him kept on nagging, I just closed my eye. When I waked up, it was 2 Am and I already arrived at Manjung in front of his house. I entered his house and continued my sleeping.

LIFE : AIDIL FITRI OPEN HOUSE AT USJ

Aidil fitri open house at Zul's house in USJ and also Tajjuddin wedding aniversary. So we call it all in one. Lots of joke, memories and the most important part we still together. LIFE : NESTLE CREATING SHARED VALUE

LIFE : BEWARE WHEN SHOPPING AT THE HYPERMARKET.

Shopping under one roof is so convenient specially at the Hypermarket. They are grew like a mushroom even at the small town like kulim. We can shop at any time and some of them a open till 1 am in the morning. If we total up all the population of Sungai Petani, kulim, Seberang Prai and Penang Island it's estimated around 1.5 million. Do we need so many Hypermarkets in our area. Some of the Traditional retailers started to complain because their business had been badly affected because of the hypermarket. They have to compete with the hypermarket in term of price. Hypermarket manage to lower their price because of in bulk purchase. In some cases they are controls and decided the price in the market. Consumers become wisely smarter and they are comparing the price. They want a best value that they can buy.In one side it true that consumers are gaining a good price and the retailers don't have any choice either follow or close their business because can't compete with the hypermarket.

Do you really think that hypermarkets are selling cheap? You have to think wisely because they only selling cheap on certain hot items goods. The goods that have a lots of demand. Some of the goods price are higher than the Traditional Retailer outlets. In some occasion without our notice the price that printed on the shelf are different from the goods that you pay at the cashier counter. It happen to me last week when I bought 2 in 1 coffee. It just one item, how about if you buy lot of items? Of cause you will never check it one by one. So next time when you do your shopping at the Hypermarket make sure that you check your bill list to make sure that you pay for the right price with a right goods.

LIFE : HARROW OUR HEAD

We almost completed the AOS and tomorrow we just need to put up another 5 sets before we can send all the photo of AOS to Penang Office. I talked with Boss this morning that we almost completed our task but he told me that another 70 sets of AOS for third wave is coming. Teoh and I was surprised because we thought that there would be no more AOS. We harrow our head because we just can't imagine where are we going to put up the OAS. It's really a challenge to us. As far as I know we almost put up 250 of OAS in our area and we need a special task to maintain it. We need to talk and persuade the outlet before we are allowed to hang it. The most important things,the benefit that the outlet would get if they hanged it in the prime area of the shop. It looked more presentable and reachable. Then I talked to Teoh either we like it or not, it is a part of our task.

This morning Teoh and I had a meeting with all Merchandisers at the office. We talked about the Thursday market work with HOU. It seem that it wasn't a good market work at all because there were some expired goods on the shelf. To me it was a serious case that need to be rectified. When there are expired stock or goods on the shelf and it will show a lot of indication and it will reflect the way how the merchandiser and sale person work. We had to remind them again and tomorrow there will be another market work. At the end of the meeting we remind them again "please took this reminder seriously".

After the meeting I and Teoh, we made one round check at Mak mandin, Taman Bagan and Seberang Jaya. We checked each of the goods on the shelf and quickly we rectified if there were any things not going right.Immediately Teoh phoned the merchandiser when there were not doing their Job properly. Coached them the proper way of merchandise the goods on the shelf. We told them didn't take thing for granted because we all are paid to do the Job so, do it accordingly by following all the guideline that have been given through training.

LIFE : NESTLE BOLEH

Another brand new day tomorrow.I need to prepare for another market work with Nescafe brand manager. Even though they are not going to my area but I need to help Teo to clean up the market area so that everything will be ready for the market work on Tuesday. This is not the ordinary market work but the market work will be done by Nescafe and Milo Brand Manager itself so everything must be perfect. Lot things need to be done, OAS and KMA photos need to be submitted on the 15 October and sale need to be monitored because only two months left. Special incentive will be given to those who achieve three months on the row with extra of Rm 500.00 by the end of the year. Everybody give a commitment to achieve because of the extra money. The purpose of the extra money is to encourage the Salesmen to work hard and to get more sale to achieve company target by end year. Sale getting tough and tougher and it's need a lot of planning. Competitor become smarter and smarter and lot of activities need to be done to counter attack the competitor activities. We always have to be reminded that take a bad time as a challenge and turn it into opportunities.The more important things in doing sale, we must have a positive minded and an attitude of "Nestle Boleh" as former Managing Director Mr. Sullivan said....

LIFE : RUMOUR

Do you believe in rumour? Almost everyday we are surrounding with rumour and it part of our daily life. Why people like to hear rumour? For fun, joke or just to past time. Some rumour really happen and some of it is just a news without black and white. Mostly rumour are circulated among a group of people and then will spread till entire office, factory and so on. At the end of the day the rumour is just a rumour , so next time don't listen to rumour until you get black and white letter.

LIFE : REALITY OF LIFE PART 2

Sometime I always ask my self, Do I work because of pleasure or I have to work because of my family or I have to work? Even though it quite complicated to answer but the main objective to work is to support family. When we talk about work, there are many types of work that totally base on your education level. Some people use his brain to work, some of them using his energy and some of them is using his talking skill to work. Anyway how hard we work we always looking forward end of the month. I mean our salary. A question arise, the money that we receive every month it is tally with the effort, brain and energy that we have been used in our daily job?

I take one example between a government Doctor and District's Officer. Do you know that to be a doctor they have to study 6 to 8 years to be a professional doctor and he must upgrade his profession by further study locally or oversea but to be a District Officer they only need to study 3 to 5 years in Administration then they will get their Degree. The main point that I want to highlight is, if you make a comparison between their working condition and working place, you will find that both of them have different working place environment. Even though they have a same qualification and salary scheme.

When you go to the government's hospital, you will find that the doctor have to meet all his patient and sometime they have to rush to attend emergency case and not even have much time to rest and have to take their lunch in hurry. Have to be on standby in case of emergency. Do you know that they not even have their own office room with a Secretary or clerk to assist them and a car with a driver. If you compare between them, you will find that they have a different working condition and place. District Officer have his own office room with clerk, Secretary , car with a driver and bungalow with kitchen helper and gardener. I have a friend who is a Doctor and I asked him about it. He admit and just wait until his 5 years compulsory service at the government's hospital is over and he will think next course of action either to continue working or resign to join private sector.

This is the main reason why the government are losing doctors after 5 years compulsory service at Government's Hospital.Most of them are joining private hospital with highly paid and good working condition. Can we blame the Doctors ?...........

LIFE : DO YOU AGREE.

For the past three month HOU visitor keep on coming to do market work at CHHK. Today I just completed one marketwork with HOU guy and there will be another marketwork on next week also from HOU. Is there something special suddenly everyone from HOU want to do market work with CHHK?. I keep on asking this question to my Exec and ABM and both of them agreed that are we have been targeted or we are one of the best ASO in Northen Region? We have been hitting our target every month. so, do you thing that they want to check how we do it or they want to learn how we hit every month target. To me, I believe that we have a good team that manage by good Exec and ABM plus good team work among Nestle Rep and Dealer Rep. Do you agreed with me?

LIFE : COINCIDENT

When we were born in this world, we born with one kind of believe that have been taught by mothers from generation to generation. Sometime all this thing happen is just a coincident. some of us believe that when a butterfly enter the house it's a sign of someone is coming . Sometime it's really happen or just a coincident. When you feel your right hand is itched it's sign of money coming in or your left hand is itched it's shown that you are going to spend some money, in other word money is going out from your pocket. When right eye is blinking it's sign of someone is remembering you or if left eye is blinking it's shown that someone is talking bad about you at the back. These are a few example that things happen surrounding us. Do you really believe it?

I can feel that time is moving fast. Whether we realize or not we can feel that one year like a month, a month like a week and a week like a day. Are we moving too fast or our time become shorter and shorter? Ramadhan and Hari raya celebration is over, it time to work and lots thing need to be done before year end. Target setting for BDSR keep on changing from total sale target to product distribution target. Life is not easy now a days. Whether we like it or not we have to adapt it to be part of our life. As I told you earlier Life is not a Fairytale. Work hard,work hard and work hard that the only recipe of life to success. No short cut. Some people say work smart but don't be too smart. Just follow instruction and be on the safe side. Do I look like a negative minded? Let it be as long as I happy with it...................Still thinking where should I be in eight years time while waiting for my retirement or I have been living in the next world. It is beyond our control let it be in the hand of Almigthy God and we just do what we have to do. Control what you can control beyond that let Almigthy god settle for us. In other word our destiny in the hand of Almighty God but we still need to work for the best to change for it and pray hard.

LIFE : MEN Vs LADIES..........

One of my key task as a Brand Development Sale Rep. to develop a brand by promoting a product direct to consumer. Factories need to be explored due to highly potential outlet to be developed. Mostly each time we are promoting our products, we will get a good responds and it is very encouraging. Since most of the factories workers are women, they are most targeted due to high purchasing power if compare to their male counterparts. I do my own survey and find that any factories with many female staffs the sale must be very good and they also pursuade their colleague to buy the product. To attract them every purchase of goods must be given a premium to make them happy and automatically they will advertise the goods that they had bought through mouth to mouth advertisement.

Base on my sale experiences in doing a direct selling at any factories outlets, the male staff normally will browse at the products, hold it and start asking for more information before buying the goods. whereas most ladies once they like it ,they will buy it and the price is secondary. When we do a direct selling at the factories the sale timing must be right speacially on the pay days. The male counterpart will only buy the product if they feel that the price is right.
