LIFE : DAY TO DAY BASIS

Thanks to my team for hitting consolidated target 1 million plus and their own personal target. So, nothing is impossible. We always complain that market is full but do we really do a right thing? Since we are paid to do the job it's mean that in more accurate we must deliver the number." Do it or don't do it "as my Branch Manager said. Yesterday was already a history so forget about it and work on next month target. As my old colleague said" we work on day to day basis". " Work hard play hard" as Mr. G told.

LIFE : BOSS IS ALWAYS BOSS

Once you be the Task Force team all figure must be in your finger tips. In other word, you must be ready to answer or give him any figure he want either by phone or in the office. This morning my boss asked my about the OAS photo. Luckily I saved it inside my pen drive. Normally he would asked me whether I owed him anything. I just said "yes ,OAS Photos". Then I shown him my printed Power Point and he gave some comment to improve my presentation. He need more photo to show it to his big boss. He asked me , " when can you give me your photo with AMS, before and after." then I asked him back " when you want it boss to be done." he reply back" when can you complete it." I told him "Wednesday."" Ok make it short and I want you to submit the photo with colour print on this coming Monday." I just answered "yes I will do it for you".

Then I talked to OAJ regarding the OAS matter and told him that "Boss want OAS project to be done as soon as possible". My problem is where to print with colour printer because we just have a normal black & white printer." Anyway Boss is always boss, don"t make your life so difficult, just print it at any computer's shop or Internet's cafe than claim" OAJ. Then both of us went out with merchandiser to do our OAS Project at Penaga area. We managed to do three outlets and then rushed to Juru to meet Thomas for Nld Sub-agent appointment. Yet we need to go back to the office to complete our key task drilling Midi figure and reply email. We stayed in the office till 9.30 pm.

LIFE : INTERSTATE

Special about Parit Buntar is bordered by three states. Parit buntar it self under Perak, cross the Krian River in town is Kedah and Penang state is just a kilometer away from the town. I was there for two years based in Parit Buntar Nestle's dealer Sin Guan Heng under Confec. Business Unit. My coverage area was very big. I was assigned to cover from Nibong Tebal Penang in northern part, Serdang Kedah Eastern part until Sg. Siput at Kuala Kangsar for the southern part. Some of these areas need to be covered for a week. I had to drive two to three hours from my working base to the area that need to be covered specially to Sg. Siput. whenever outstation was needed I had my own budget Hotel to stay with a special rate and the hotel's owner would gave me the same room because he knew when I was coming. By showing his sign body signal it meant that my room was ready. Actually I had a lot of friends that offered me to stay at their house but I preferred to be alone and privacy.

When I wasn't outstation and working in Parit Buntar area my breakfast would be in Perak, lunch at Kedah, Dinner and sleeping in Penang states. I rented a house in Permatang Tok Mahad Penang side and Perak Border was just a cross the road opposite of my rented house. When I was based in Parit Buntar eleven years ago OAJ was just promoted to FSE under Food Service Division. From there he was tranfed to Kuala Lumpur branch. Today we meet again and I am working under him. My policy is make a friend as much as you can because you will never know that one day your friend will be your next boss.

LIFE : MEE KAYA Vs MEE MISKIN

I must getting use of going home late from the office. Now I realise that lot things need to be done specially end of the month. Tracking on M2mn Midi distribution need to be done weekly basis because need to achieve 70% from the total outlets in MM,A,B and C. Challenge had been threw by HOU to hit the target given by end of this month. So far so good and some of the Sale reps are going to hit that numbers. The main attraction was a reward promised by HOU if Northern Branch could hit the target. Northern Branch had been chosen for the launching and specially manufactured for the branch to test the market on cheaper version of m2mn. Feed back from the market to early to be analyzed. The only feed back I got from one of the sale rep, the retailer told him that why did Nestle came up with two version of m2mn instead of reducing the m2mn price. Even they called it mee kaya and mee miskin. Actually nothing change except the weight of the noodle.

LIFE : HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Came back very late from the office. Lot things need to be done and tomorrow will be thruput meeting at the office. Everything need to be submitted urgently and thanks to Mighty God that I had completed LP outlets survey with OAJ and before that we had a simple lunch with my big boss and Eric at the Mee Ketam stall Jalan Kulim Bukit Mertajam. OAJ told me that he's going to eat two plates of Mee Ketam. Anyway he did it and I just looked at him. After completed the outlets survey we proceed to Permatang Pauh for a quick tea break before heading back to office. All the survey finding that we had collected need to be compiled and sent it to HOU even though they set us dateline to be sent on the 25 of June. OAJ just don't like to hold the survey because there will be more works are coming that need to be followed up. Even though it's a bit stress but I learned lot things today.

Yesterday Sunday I waked up a bit late, then I noticed green Handmade greeting card lying on my bed side table. It was from my daughter wishing me Happy Father's Day. Then I called her and kissed her forehead " thank you my sweet heart and I love you so much". After sholat Asar, I took my family for window shopping at Sungai Petani. We had a dinner at the Rasa Mas restaurant. Conjunction with the Father's day yesterday the restaurant had a special set menu for four with a special price and door gift. I had a good time together with my family and then visited my mother in law house before we went home.

LIFE : ENEMY IS OURSELF

This morning event had been successfully implemented and from the face of the team leaders shown that everybody were enjoyed and happy with it. Some of them even suggested that the event should be done monthly until we could met the objective of distribution. More focus and more concentrate even though distribution of new sku is our responsible and part of our job. In Nestle we are more focus speed to the market because it's our duty to distribute after we get a clear message and instruction from the management. Brand and marketing management is responsible to create awareness to consumers by media and electronic communication. Successful of the new products totally depend how much information have been given and can be reached by consumers. The most important element in marketing to build up the confident level of consumers before they buy the products. The problem will be arise when the level of confident for the new product by salereps are low and we are the one who kills the product before it's fully distribute to all outlets. The enemy of the new product not come from our competitor but from our self. So, proud and confident of the new products then only it will be survived .

LIFE : MY BELOVED FATHER DATUK ANDIKA

Last Sunday morning I received a greeting message through sms by one of my friends from Kuala Lumpur. She wish me Happy Father's Day. Actually I didn't know until I received that sms. I just smile and said thank you for the message in my heart. I was born and brought up in very traditional family with full of Adat Perpatih. My father is a chieftain from one of the Adat Perpatih clans with a title of Datuk Andika. Anything that pretending Adat Perpatih in wedding, land transfer and family matter has to refer to my father. Before he was elected to be a chieftain, he was a very discipline, in detail and strict policeman. Emphasize in education and willing to spend any amount of money for my brothers and sisters education even though he had to borrow from one of his trusted friend. Never say no to our request. There are no other ways to repay my father good deeds except by showing our true love toward him. I still remember his quote until now as below.

" I am not born from a rich family. I don't have any lands, estates and properties to be given to you all when I already pass away. The only things that I can afford to give is education and please use it to make you rich but never or don't forget your root and where you are came from."

I think it's still not too late to wish Happy Father's Day to my beloved father. I always pray to The Mighty God for your good health and I wish that I can take care of you until your last day in this world. Thanks Pa and I love you.

LIFE : TAMAN PELANGGI JURU

Just came back from Bp go-kart event at Juru Auto city. The sale wasn't so good even though the crowd were there. Anyway I had to do it because the event was planned by HOU and Nestle was co- sponsor for the event. OAJ was there to assist but he asked us to move to other location tomorrow after had a discussion with the event organiser. Hopefully tomorrow Sunday will be a good sale for us. Actually I want to write something special about Juru and his surrounding area.

Auto city is a well known place with imported cars. Most of the high class car dealers are located there such as Porche, Merc, Volvo and Naza Auto world. It is also a happening place with Pubs and high class restaurants but the most interesting place is just adjacent to the Auto City where there is a housing area name Taman Pelangi in English pelangi mean Rainbow. The housing area consist of Low cost flats and almost 90% of the dweller are foreigners working at Prai Industrial area. They are blue collar workers. Some of these flats are converted into the hostel for them to stay.

It was almost Maghrib and I told yusri to perform our Maghrib Solat at the near by surau of Taman Pelanggi. On my way there I told yusri that" we are in the foreign country because most of the dweller are coming from Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Nepal. They are dominated the area and most of the business either grocery, hand phone shops and eating stalls are running by them. The businesses are totally to cater their needs." It's also known as a little Hadyai by the local.

When we were performed our sholat Maghrib at the Taman Pelangi's surau and it was almost full of jemaah like the Sholat Jumaat. Most of the jemaah were Bangladeshis. They are obedient men toward Islam. That is a good things about Bangladeshis. 99% of Bangladeshis whose works here are Muslim. Then I told Yusri that " We are stepping on Malaysia's land but living in the foreign's country. Yusri just smile............

LIFE : HEAT

The weather is so hot and I can still feel the heat even though my house Air-condition has been on since afternoon . Some of my neighbours are complaining that they can't stay inside the house because of the heat specially at night. So they will sit outside their house while waiting for the house temperature to be cooled a bit. Most of them are sleeping at their living room instead of bedroom which are located at the second floor. This is a normal phenomena living in the terrace houses which are built from brick. The brick will release the heat that trap inside and it will take some time to be cooled.

when I was staying in Ipoh. The Kinta City shopping complex is surrounding by terrace houses. So after dinner most of the terrace houses owner will visit the shopping complex not for window shopping but just to sit on the bench inside the shopping complex to cool themself from outside heat. No wonder each time I visited the shopping complex, you could see the crowd of people whose were relaxing and sitting on the bench. By the time the shopping complex close the house temperature has cool down.

When I make a comparison staying in Kampung and city. I still find that staying in Kampung area is much cooler because of the greener environment. So to cool down the temperature stop cutting down the trees and lands clearing in the name of developments. Our future world temperature liaise on our own hand.

LIFE : EX-HOTCAT

Just came back from surau and then one of the Jemaah asked me "why I didn't update my blog" and I told him that my last updated on Tuesday. Then I sat in front of the computer and checked my Email, News in Malaysiakini and facebook. Thru my facebook's notification I found that two friends were available to chit chat Madia and Yati Azhar. As usual I would just said hello and exchanged any good news from them since most of my friends are staying in Kuala Lumpur. We still keep in touch with each other specially with the Xhotcat member. LIFE : ONE MILLION MAN

Back to the Task force again after two months was assigned temporarily as sale rep taking care of Butterworth area. Good things about it is hitting target two months in the row despite a lot of obstacles. This time my Task force job will be more focused and I was given a target that was consolidated from four CHHK's Sale Rep end up almost one million Ringgit. So, can call me One Million Dollar Man. My task is to monitor their sale and make sure that the four of them hitting their own target then only I will receive my full incentive. It's only hitting target matter.

OAJ was given me a big task to organise a big event on this coming Saturday and Sunday. There will be a special direct selling on that particular day. Preparations of the event had been done and tomorrow I will be presenting it to all my colleague for their participation. Lots of things need to be done, I just need the team work to make it a successful event. Yesterday I learned a new thing about computer system. Drilling a data from the Nestle 's Report Manager on distribution of products. This will be parts of my Task Force function to monitor distribution of new products , monthly key activities and monthly products distribution target. Market work with all Sale Reps that whom are assigned under me to assist them in term of sale, distribution and projects execution. In other words speed to target.

I stayed a bit late yesterday at the office just to learn the new things and then I had a dinner with Yusri after that. I was suppose to bring him to my favourite Hailam fried rice, unfortunately the restaurant was closed so we just went to the next restaurant and we had a good Nasi goreng ayam. Sembang-sembang till 10.30 pm. Anyway thanks to Yusri, OAJ and John for teaching me the news things about drilling data.

LIFE : 10% DISCOUNT

Reached Bandar Putra Bertam Kepala batas around 2 am yesterday from Melaka. The traffic flow on the highway was smooth even though it was a school Holiday. As usual I stopped at Petronas Damansara to refill my petrol and Pertronas Simpang Pulai for rest and refresh my self a while before proceed my journey to Penang. I drove below the highway speed limit so that I could reached Ipoh North toll at 12 midnight. When I reached at the toll area, I still had 10 minute before 12 midnight so I parked my car at the highway roadside and watching my car's clock. Then I noticed one by one cars were stopping at the highway toll roadside like I did. Everybody was waiting 12 midnight for 10% discount on toll charge. When my car's clock shown 12 midnight slowly I drove my car to the toll gate and paid my toll. I save 10% toll charge from Air Kroh Melaka toll to Ipoh North toll. The whole journey I could save Rm 8.oo. Even though it wasn't much but everything must be counted now a days.
