LIFE : STUDENT ZAMAN KU

Beli satu pinggan mee goreng makan dua orang.

LIFE : THOSE DAYS IN MEMORIES.......

Today is Saturday and I declared myself as a freedom day. As usual armed with my laptop and camera searching for my blog article. I have my own spot where I can take my lunch, write, reading latest news from the Internet and get connected with Facebook thru free wifi. While I am taking my lunch and I keep my eye open looking at the surrounding to see human behaviour from lonely man, family to youngster, the way they spend their weekend and from there we can see that world has changed. Everything has changed specially in life's style. When I looked back in those days, I still could remembered, how close we were with our sibling and the only entertainment we had was playing around the house with brothers and sisters. Mostly girls played inside the house playing masak-masak and the boys would run outside house playing police sanctuary. That was the best moment of my life. The whole family would sat together and enjoying our lunch in weekend where mom would cooked a simple dish with all the ingredients from our house's backyard, Pucuk Paku, pucuk ubi with sambal belacan. All the sweet memories had gone. No more rounders, tenteng and playing sorok-sorok as what we did in those days. I don't think most of boys and girls nowadays know the game that I mention above. We are moving toward to the generation that is addicted to Video and online game. So, something need to be done to promote back the traditional game to make it alive again............

KEHIDUPAN : LAGU LAMA

LIFE : FROM SABAK BERNAM TO KLANG........

Came back from My hometown yesterday. I purposely took a federal Road from Manjung Perak to Klang after fetch my sister at her house in Sri manjung. On my way to Klang I passed through Sabak Bernam, Sg. Besar, Sekinchan, Tanjung karang, Kuala selangor, Jeram, kapar, Meru before entered the Setia Alam Highway and exits at Pedas Toll in Rembau. All these route had brought back my memories. I was born at Tanjung karang General Hospital in July 1962 and my father was a Policeman base in Tanjung Karang police Station. I still can remember till today, where every Monday my late mother would took me to Pasar Isnin near the River side to buy a fresh Veggies, fish and meat. The most special dish at this market was a Pecal that make of Nasi Impit, boiled Long bean, taugeh with special peanut sauce.

Then I passed a small Chinese town where my father had been based there at the Pondok polis Pasir penambang in 1972. All my neighbour were Chinese and most of them were farmers and fishmen. When came Chinese new years, my refrigerator would full and filled up with mandarin oranges. Since my neighbour was a farmer grew vegetable and we got our fresh supply of veggies everyday with lower price. I had to wake up as early as 5.00 am because my school was 24 miles from my house. At 6.30 am I was the first person to board the bus to school and the last person to reach home. Near my house there was a cinema, the wooden building with a zinc roof. Of course you would feel like in the hot oven when watching a movie in the afternoon show even though there were a big fans inside the cinema and couldn't hear the sound except a movie on the screen when heavy rains hit the zinc roof. The cinema ticket was 0.60cent a flat rate with the wooden chair with no cushion on it. I was there for almost three years before my father was tranferred to Pondok Polis Kampung Raja Musa about 16 km from Pasir penambang.

It was just a memories and today all these small towns had changed interm of development and lots of new building coming up until I almost couldn't recognise the sleepy town of Pasir penambang.

LIFE : NON STOP TALKING.............

Yesterday I was in Kuala Lumpur to attend the Teh Tarik Session cum Birthday party a friend of mine at JM Briayani House in Subang Jaya. I departed 7.20 am from Bukit Mertajam Railway Station and arrived at Kuala Lumpur Sentral about 1.45 pm. Madia came and fecth me there. It was just a private function with only close friends invited. As usual same members attended and we really enjoyed and had a fun time that filled with joked and memories. Met Badrul known as Awe Misai when we were at ITM. Now he run his own Insurance company with his wife. Time past too fast, I need to cacth my next train to Bukit Mertajam on the same day that would be departed at 8.15pm so I adjourned at 7.00 pm. Asri and Shukor sent me to KL Sentral. Just in time because I should be there 30 minute before the train departed. Safely arrived at the Bukit Mertajam Railway Station at 4.00 am on Sunday. Alhamdulillah Thanks to Almighty God because taking care of my car which I parked in front of Railway Station open parking ,also thanks to Zul and Mai for their invitation. The only bad experienced during my journey back to BM was I booked a sleeping compartment and opposite of my bed there were a father and son kept on talking for non stop until I couldn't sleep for the entire journey. Just imagine......... how tired and exhausted was I.

LIFE : FAMILY FIRST

I thought I just wanted to rest at home but after took my breakfast as usual my wife would asked me whether I had any planned to go out. I just said "no". So I asked her back if she had any planned to go out with me for window shopping. She answered "no and can you do me a favour" and said " yes, is there anything that I can help you?". " Can you take your two daughters out with you because I want to clean up the house and than I need a good nap" my wife said to me. I took my daughters to Seberang Jaya Library and then we went for window shopping at Sunway carnival. I hadn't take them out almost one month because I had lots work to do. Sometime I always think that I must give my time with my family at least twice a month, taking them out for picnic or just stay at any resort hotel to make them happy. I had been doing these before but stop taking them out after my third kid. I can hear they are complaining that I seldom take them out lately. I still could remembered how I took them to stay at Penang's hotel all along the beach every month. I started with Mutiara hotel then followed by Casurina, Plaza, Crown Prince, Orchad and the last hotel I stayed with my family was Shereton Hotel before it changed to other name. Beside that I also took them to stay at Equtorial, Pasedena and service Apartment in Cameron Highland even to Trolak Country Resort, Rasa Sayang Counrty Resort and a few places that I couldn't remember the name of the Hotel. The sweet memories is still there but when time is bad, I just need to more focus on my work and just hope that those day will come again and plan to take them for abroad holiday at least to Indonesia when time is permitted.

LIFE : PATRICK GOH

Received a surprise call from my former ABM Mr. Patrick Goh. I was at the office compiling my Chiller withdrawal and placement Form that need to be sent to Penang Office. When Mr. Patrick was in charged of Chhk lots of changes had been done by him. He managed to change our mentalities to be more positive in term of doing sales. He taught us how to drive more thruput by selling from A to Z instead of concentrate Milo, Nescafe and M2mn. I still could remembered how he taught us to sell all those Hari-hari, Nasi goreng or items that we tend to forget because of small volume sale but he believed that these small items could be extra sale as Malay proverb said " Sikit-sikit lama-lama jadi bukit." He always gave encouragements to do more because he believed that we could do more then what we thought. He always asked us to commit sale that we could bring back by using AMS taking per outlet per week. Sometime we under estimated our own ability to do sale. Actually at the end of the day we brought more sale from what we thought.

The office that we are working today is designed by him and he supervised the renovation from beginnings until completion. This is only ASO that complete with mini lecture theatre room for meeting and training purposes. Prayer room facilities for Muslim workers and surrounding with healthy environment, fresh air and a lots of local fruits tree have been planted to add more greener. He always believe that the more you work hard the more result you will get. Work hard play hard and every success that we did would be rewarded by seafood dinner at Tambun Prawn Village. As far as I am concerned we never missed our target two years on the row. Anyway it already a history but the culture of hard working will be remained in our daily life. This is the example of success and duplication that manufactured from Mr. G.

LIFE : BOSS IS ALWAYS BOSS

Once you be the Task Force team all figure must be in your finger tips. In other word, you must be ready to answer or give him any figure he want either by phone or in the office. This morning my boss asked my about the OAS photo. Luckily I saved it inside my pen drive. Normally he would asked me whether I owed him anything. I just said "yes ,OAS Photos". Then I shown him my printed Power Point and he gave some comment to improve my presentation. He need more photo to show it to his big boss. He asked me , " when can you give me your photo with AMS, before and after." then I asked him back " when you want it boss to be done." he reply back" when can you complete it." I told him "Wednesday."" Ok make it short and I want you to submit the photo with colour print on this coming Monday." I just answered "yes I will do it for you".

Then I talked to OAJ regarding the OAS matter and told him that "Boss want OAS project to be done as soon as possible". My problem is where to print with colour printer because we just have a normal black & white printer." Anyway Boss is always boss, don"t make your life so difficult, just print it at any computer's shop or Internet's cafe than claim" OAJ. Then both of us went out with merchandiser to do our OAS Project at Penaga area. We managed to do three outlets and then rushed to Juru to meet Thomas for Nld Sub-agent appointment. Yet we need to go back to the office to complete our key task drilling Midi figure and reply email. We stayed in the office till 9.30 pm.

LIFE : INTERSTATE

Special about Parit Buntar is bordered by three states. Parit buntar it self under Perak, cross the Krian River in town is Kedah and Penang state is just a kilometer away from the town. I was there for two years based in Parit Buntar Nestle's dealer Sin Guan Heng under Confec. Business Unit. My coverage area was very big. I was assigned to cover from Nibong Tebal Penang in northern part, Serdang Kedah Eastern part until Sg. Siput at Kuala Kangsar for the southern part. Some of these areas need to be covered for a week. I had to drive two to three hours from my working base to the area that need to be covered specially to Sg. Siput. whenever outstation was needed I had my own budget Hotel to stay with a special rate and the hotel's owner would gave me the same room because he knew when I was coming. By showing his sign body signal it meant that my room was ready. Actually I had a lot of friends that offered me to stay at their house but I preferred to be alone and privacy.

When I wasn't outstation and working in Parit Buntar area my breakfast would be in Perak, lunch at Kedah, Dinner and sleeping in Penang states. I rented a house in Permatang Tok Mahad Penang side and Perak Border was just a cross the road opposite of my rented house. When I was based in Parit Buntar eleven years ago OAJ was just promoted to FSE under Food Service Division. From there he was tranfed to Kuala Lumpur branch. Today we meet again and I am working under him. My policy is make a friend as much as you can because you will never know that one day your friend will be your next boss.

LIFE: MARKET WORK WITH OAJ

I worked with OAJ for market work today. We visited three wet markets and found that most of the wet market not been fully covered by our sale rep since Mr chea left the company. The purpose of the market work was to check our product distribution according to our Nestle distribution sku base on channel. OAJ told me that " This will be part of your new assignment as a Task Force team next month to make sure that market up to our Nestle's distribution standard". Next month onward I and Teo will be assigned to lead a Dealer's sale rep to assist them in sale and distribution. My sale target is base on total target that we have set to our Dealer's sale rep. In other word we have to work hand to hand as a one team to achieve our ASO target. Nestle's company want us to more focus on the new products and to develop it for future market. Then we proceed to Penaga to visit Sultan Alauddin's Mini market. OAJ told me Penaga had changed a lots compared to thirteen years ago when he covered this area as a coffee shop sale rep. He asked me whether Ice kacang's stall near the riverside was still there or not? I told him" yes " and then we end up our market work ate Ice Kacang at Permatang Bendahari Penaga near the Sungai Kuala Muda.

LIFE : DON'T COMPLAINT

Each time I eats a good food either home cook or eat outside with my family always remind me to my father's quote. He always told us that " Eat less if the food is delicious and eat more if the food is tasted bad." When I was a child I didn't really understood what it mean until I grew up. After attended a group discussion at religious class then only I knew what it mean. Actually it was our Prophet Muhammad Saw taught us to respect to a person whose cooked for us. It could be our mother, sister, neighbour or anyone that served us some food to eat. Our Prophet taught us not to complaint when food was served in front of us. Take it if you like and just leave it if you don't like the food. We should praise to a person if she or he cooks a good food.

Let we analyzes my father's quote " Eat less if the food is delicious" it mean that if you really like the food so much please remember to share the food with the others. So that everybody will get to taste the food together. " Eat more if the food taste bad" It mean that show your respect to a person who prepares the food by telling him or her that you like the food but the food tastes can be improved.By doing this, nobody feeling will get hurt.

So next time whatever your wife cooks for you just eat it and don't complaint.

LIFE : STILL HANGING AND UNTOUCHED

My late mother's house came alive again after my elder sister decided to stay at the Rumah pusaka. She decided to move in with her family from Sik Kedah and set up car wash and warung just in front of the house. The house had been abandon so many years and we decided to restore the house again to bring back our sweet memories. The most happier person was my father and my brothers. When they heard the news that my elder sister had came back and stayed to take care of the rumah pusaka. As part of our culture in Adat Perpatih, the elder sister shall inherits the property and she shall replace as a mother to our families since my mother already passed away. Now we have a place for family gathering again at least once a year specially on the big day such as Hari Raya. So we decide to have a Kenduri kesyukuran and arwah on this coming school holiday to welcome her home with her family. The best part of the house was, when I saw a hand Craft work from someone special that still hanging and untouched on the wall and this had brought me to sweet memories during my student era in ITM Shah Alam. At least I know how to appreciate even though we were not mean to be together. Let it be there hanging on the wall until...................?

LIFE : DO I LOOK TOO OLD?

Something funny happen to me this morning. I went to Seberang Jaya hospital with my daughter for her an appointment with Orthopedic doctor. I walked to the registration desk to get number to see the doctor suddenly the registration officer asked me " Sir, Who's Fatimah Azzaharah, it's your wife? " and I answered " no. My daughter". He asked me again " how old is she?" "eight" I said. "OK and can you bring me a letter from her school or you can use your pension card for the next appointment" The Front desk officer said. I just looked at him without saying anything. Then I went to the restroom looking at the mirror and talked to myself " Do I look so old because of the white hair and the officer who talked to me could be 6 to 7 year older than me"." Let it be "I said it in my heart.

After waiting for a few minute my daughter's name was called and the nurse took us to the doctor's room. Doctor examined my daughter's arm and check her Xray report. Everything was ok and she can go to school tomorrow but I requested for another one week medical leave so that she really fit to go to school by cycling. On my way back home I talked to myself again " Just because there are a lot of white hairs grow on my head and beard so he thinks that I am a pensioner or may be I am an old man wearing a white Collar T-shirt with a loose Levi's Jean." Funny...............

KEHIDUPAN : UNTOLD STORY

KEHIDUPAN : JIRAN TIONGHUA KU
